The TLP programme included the people’s assembly, oversight visits to government funded projects around the municipality, public hearings and stakeholder engagements.

The event enabled members of the Legislature to get first-hand information on service delivery issues.

Acting Premier of Mpumalanga Province, Ms Refilwe Mtsweni delivered the TLP closing address on Friday, March 16 at SY Mthimunye Stadium, Ackerville, under the theme ‘Improved Socio-Economic Livelihoods: Advancing Madiba Legacy’.

Before Mtsweni started her speech, she ordered a moment of silence for the Shabane family.

“As the province we send our deepest condolences to the family. Thank you to the police for a job well done. We want to say to the family, we are here for you.”

Alluding to what was previously said by the Speaker of Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature, Mtsweni said the province was there to listen to the peoples grievances.

The last TLP visit was in 2015 where the following things were achieved.

In Phola, Sizanani Day Care Centre was opened and 8 000 billing systems have been installed to help with under or over billing.
