Serving her community like only Rose can

Ms Rose Chetty from eMalahleni Housing Company was awarded with the Highveld Mall Community Award during the Tenant Awards. This took place on Tuesday, February 27.

Henri Gouws, Marketing Manager from Highveld Mall said that Rose has shown an immeasurable investment and commitment to the community.

“She and the Emalahleni Housing Company have gone above and beyond to make a positive change in our city. As General Manager of the affiliate Likaya Community Development she has shown her determination and passion and gained the trust of so many companies to join as stakeholders. We were especially honoured to play host to several of her projects and played a sponsorship part in others.”


Rose Chetty, receiving the Highveld Mall Community Award during the Tenant Awards on Tuesday, February 27. With her are Henri Gouws, Trevor Dube, Henri Gouws and Chris Benall.

He also said that over the last 12 months and several initiatives later she and her team have managed to raise and plough back into the community over R600 000, 28% more than she did in 2016.

“With her efforts and all for the less privileged, 209 girls were supplied with sanitary towels and hygiene hampers for over eight months, 30 wheelchairs were donated, 1000 pairs of school shoes distributed, countless food hampers and grocery vouchers handed out, refurbishment of a local high school and creating awareness for the Sunflower Fund for stem cell donation. She did community upliftment projects like Miss Heritage. The last two events both hosted at the Mall. It is my honour to present this award not only to a woman I know as Rose but a woman with integrity, empathy and courage.”
