A suspect was arrested after the fatal shooting of a woman opposite the Nkangala FET offices.
Shocked colleagues and loved ones stood in disbelief as they struggled to comprehend what had happened.
The incident occurred on Friday morning, February 23 at approximately 10:00 on the corner of Haig and Northey Street in the Central Business District (CBD).

Everything seemed normal that morning for all the businesses in Haig Street, until the sound of gunshots echoed through the buildings.
It is alleged that a police officer on duty at Witbank Police Station received a frantic call about a murder in Haig Street.
Haig and Northey Street was closed off on Friday, February 23 where the fatal shooting took place.
According to the victim’s sister Ms Phathiswa Gumede, her sister wanted to go and see her ex-boyfriend who was in the field opposite the office.
As the woman went to greet him it is alleged that he wanted to know what she was doing there.
Maritza Schoeman van Niekerk a paramedic from ER24 declared the 32-year old woman dead on scene where she was shot on Friday, February 23.
Before the woman could answer him, the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot her. Bleeding profusely she started to apologise and ran away.
