Two more people have been taking for questioning in connection with the abduction and brutal killing of two children.

Community members came in their numbers to support the Shabani family during the appearance of the arrested suspect, Thokozani Msibi.
The appearance follows the kidnapping of the two Shabani children.

The suspect appeared on Tuesday, February 27 at Witbank Magistrate Court. The people were joined in support of the family by officials including ANC regional chairperson Mr Speedy Mashilo, eMalahleni executive mayor Cllr Lindiwe Ntshalintshali, traditional leader Inkosi Nsizwa Mahlangu and other officials.

Msibi will appear again on charges of kidnapping and murder on Tuesday, March 6 for a formal bail application. He remains in custody.
13-year-old Gabisile Shabani and the 15-month-old Nkosikhona Welcome Ngwenya were found murdered and their bodies were discovered on February 20.

Gabisile’s body was recovered near Cullinan in a shallow grave while Nkosikhona’s body was retrieved by police divers from the Zaalkap River next to the N4 Highway.
