Ward 13 in Ackerville receive useful gifts

Vosman Police Station commander Brigadier Delisiwe Motha, police officials, Ward councillor Petunia Maseko with committee members, Mr Johannes Mahlangu representing Samancor, CPF members and members of the community. This was during the presentation of useful gifts from Samancor.

Ward councillor Petunia Maseko after meeting with her committee members identified problems in the ward and they came with a solution to solve the problem of crime.

The CPF members indicated that they needed bicycles, radios, reflector jackets and torches. Cllr Maseko was tasked to find sponsors to provide them with the needed items. She was able to bring on board Samancor who were able to provide the needed items.

Vosman Police Station commander Brigadier Delisiwe Motha thanked Samancor for bringing a change in the community of KwaGuqa. She said the ten radios, 20 reflector jackets, 10 bicycles and the 20 torches had come at the right time to help members of the community through CPF to fight crime in the area.

She said that as a community we all need to join hands to fight crime as crime does not have colour or status. She also said that sponsors were needed to help government to fight crime.

“Criminals also broke into my house and all the donated items will come in handy to fight crime. In the long run the community will benefit a lot from the donation. We need each other and we need to support each other. We need also to support members of the CPF as they protect us. I would like to thank Cllr Maseko for her commitment to her ward. She has shown that she will leave a legacy after her time. The items need to be registered in the state as per the requirement. The community will definitely benefit from the donation.”

Mr Johannes Mahlangu representing Samancor in his message of support said they were all aware of crime in the community and will support every initiative to stop crime.

Mr Mahlangu also acknowledged the positive part played by the police and members of the CPF. He promised that they will help where ever they can.
