Mthunzi’s assaulter in court

The suspect briefly appeared in court on Thursday, January 11.

Words echoed against the empty courtroom where the man, accused of assaulting 21-year old Mthunzi Sibuyi, appeared yesterday.

The suspect who turned himself in at Witbank Police Station briefly appeared in court on Thursday, January 11.

“All the people that laid down a statement will testify against you sir, you know it right?” Magistrate Daleen Venter asked the suspect who appeared emotional while just staring in front of him.

Mr Mandla Kenny, Sibuyi’s father said he is extremely tired.

He was supported by family who attended the court appearance.

The suspect received bail of R2 000 and the case was postponed until February 27 for further investigation.

Sibuyi has been discharged and is recovering.
