Scam warning

Vosman police have issued a warning to community members.

Vosman police have issued a warning to community members.

They issued the warning after a complaint was received from Mr Jabu Fannie Mtau who said that he received a call from an unknown person who said he was from Vodacom and that Mtau was sharing a number with another person. After that his phone lost network.

Mtau then sent his wife to withdraw money from the bank only to find that an amount of R3 280 had been withdrawn from his account and part of the money was used to buy airtime.

Police are warning the public not to switch off when told to do that or if someone tells you that you are sharing a number with somebody, it is just a scam.

Police are investigating a case of fraud.
