Vosman police are investigating two cases of attempted murder.
One of the cases happened on Saturday, December 9 at about 01:30 at KwaGuqa in Extension 10. Mr Sipho Nkabinde reported that he was walking in the street with his friend when he met two suspects one of which was armed.
The two suspects were driving in a Nissan van and they stopped after seeing them. Mr Nkabinde and his friend were asking for a lift from the driver when the passenger started shooting randomly and Mr Nkabinde’s friend was shot in the leg while Nkabinde was shot in the arm. The van then drove off.
Nothing was taken from Nkabinde and his friend and five empty cartridges were found on the scene by the police.
Vosman police are also investigating another case of attempted murder. They reported that on Monday, December 11 at about 02:45, Mr Bongani Ngobeni of Empumelelweni heard some noises outside his house as if someone was trying to force open the door of his vehicle.
He went outside to check and saw a suspect wearing dark clothes trying to open his vehicle. The suspect fired a shot after seeing him and Ngobeni was shot in the right arm. After a while the suspect ran away and Ngobeni drove to the police station to report the matter.
Police are investigating both cases and nobody has been arrested.
