Three residents from eMalahleni were robbed of their belongings over the past week.

Three residents from eMalahleni were robbed of their belongings over the past week.

On Friday, December 1 at 01:00 Mr Cedric Shcoca alleged that he was walking in Mandla Street with a friend and two other people he did not know.

Shcoca recalls that a truck came from behind them then stopped and a suspect climbed out of the truck with a firearm.

He pointed the gun at Shcoca and his friend, then the suspect searched all of them and took money and clothes then left.

On the same day just an hour earlier another robbery occurred in Old Coronation.
Mr Bongani Ghumede alleged that he stopped his truck next to the road as it was pouring with rain and there was no guard house.

At 00:00 an unknown person armed with a fire arm knocked on the window and demanded that Ghumede open up.
Ghumede put up a fight as he did not want to let his truck go, the suspect then took the battery out of the truck.

The suspect placed the battery on the ground and he started searching Ghumede for personal items.
He took a cell phone and some cash that was in Ghumede’s possession, along with the battery.

A day earlier on Thursday, November 30 at 21:10 Mr Nathi Phithi alleged that he was walking in Gordon Road when a Toyota Avanza stopped next to him. Three suspects with firearms jumped out of the vehicle. The suspects then took Phithi to the vehicle. Once inside the vehicle he recalls the suspects telling him to look down.

They then took his cell phone, his bank cards, the running shoes he had on and his t-shirt.
The suspects then drove to the bank where they withdrew a large sum of money; they then took him to nearby bushes where they left him.
