Taxi overturns and burns

A local taxi overturned and later burned in Lynnville. Five passengers were injured during the accident.

According to one of the passengers, a punctured back tyre was the cause of the accident which occurred on Wednesday, November 1. She said that after the puncture the driver could not control the taxi which resulted in it overturning.

“We heard a loud bang and after that the taxi driver lost control and it overturned. We saw some smoke but were able to be taken out after they broke the windscreen and we were helped out. Those injured were taken to the nearby Lynnville Clinic,” said the passenger.

The passenger also explained that five of the passengers were seriously injured and received medical attention. She said she still feels some pain all over her body.
