The case of two male suspects charged with car-hijacking has been postponed at the Witbank Magistrate Court.

In addition, a female suspect is locked behind bars for escorting the hijacked cars to Maputo. The male suspects are aged 26 and 29 and the woman is 28-years-old.

There is a correction to be made, the WITBANK NEWS printed that two male suspects were arrested at the border gate whereas the man aged 29 and the woman were the ones arrested at the Manguzi border gate (KwaZulu-Natal’s side crossing to Maputo).

On the day of the arrest, September 18, the vehicles had already jumped the border and police are still searching for them (Toyota Hilux Legend and Kia Sportage). Four days after the first arrest took place police had a breakthrough and arrested the 26-year-old suspect at his home situated in Klarinet.

He was found with two unlicensed firearms in his possession which police believe were used during the hijackings.
The suspects appeared in court on Tuesday, October 24 and were denied bail.

Their case has been postponed to Thursday, November 23 and Monday, November 27. The accused will remain in custody until their next court appearance.
