Remains sent away for DNA tests

No foul play is suspected at this stage.

WITBANK NEWS reported last week that a vehicle was burned almost beyond recognition, but the cause is still unclear.

This happened on Sunday, October 8 on the Zaaihoek road.

Capt Eddie Hall, police spokesperson said that the remains have been sent away for DNA testing, to determine the identity of the deceased.

He also stated last week that no foul play is suspected at this stage.

The driver of the Nissan NP 200 has not yet been identified.

Police, SACCW (South African Community Crime Watch) and AfriForum members attended the scene on the abovementioned Sunday.

The vehicle was parked in the middle of the road, with the handbrake pulled up, completely burned out with the deceased inside.
