Suspects that robbed a man at gunpoint posed as customers

Two men were robbed of their cell phones at gunpoint. One incident happened at Klarinet and the other at Zaaihoek Road, next to Klarinet. One victim was a hitch hiker.

On Wednesday morning, October 4 a man was threatened with a firearm as suspects took his personal belongings. In this incident, suspects posed as customers.

The 35-year-old man said he opened the workshop around 07:30. 15 minutes later as he was cleaning the place, two suspects came in with recycling material to sell to him. The complainant took the suspects stuff, weighed it and took his bag of money in order to pay the suspects. The man paid one of the suspects and as the suspect took the money, the other suspect took out a firearm and threatened the complainant. The suspects took the bag of money and a cell phone.

The second incident happened to a 27-year-old man. The victim of the robbery with a firearm said he was hiking at Zaaihoek Road when a white Volkswagen Golf stopped to give him a lift. In the vehicle were three suspects. The suspects agreed to take the complainant to school but along the way the car turned into a gravel road.

They drove into the bushes and the car stopped. One of the suspects sitting with the complainant in the back seat instructed the complainant to get out. The man was threatened with a gun and he was robbed of his money and three cell phones. No shots were fired. Only after the vehicle drove off, the man saw that the car had no registration number at the back.

A man was threatened with a firearm at the Central Business District (CBD).

On Friday, October 6 at 23:45 a 28-year-old man was driving to Jellicoe Street to drop off a staff member. When the complainant stopped he was approached by two suspects who were driving a white Nissan 1400.

The accused in the vehicle allegedly started shouting at the complainant accusing him of driving recklessly. The man responded by saying he was in the correct lane. The man alleged that one suspect pushed him as the other suspect threatened him with a gun. That is when he decided to leave because the argument was getting heated.
