Postboxes now come with a digital postbox

The SA Post Office has announced that customers who renew their postboxes before the end of 2017 will qualify for a free digital postbox for life. Essentially this is a highly secure communication platform for sending and receiving electronic mail, which also has an encrypted vault for storing all your important documents electronically, with instant safe payment options for paying accounts.

A year’s rental for a postbox is R450, and R1800 for a private bag.

“Postboxes are readily available and secure. We’ve added a digital post box that will allow our customers to access their mail and statements across more channels at their convenience,” says Craig Mooi, head of postboxes at the SA Post Office.

He pointed out that customers do not have to pay at the outlet where they rent their postbox.

Postboxes and private bags can be renewed at any post office branch nationally by debit card, cash or bank guaranteed cheque. They can also be renewed online at www.virtualpostoffice.co.za.

The Post Office reminds customers to pay their rental through the channels of their choice, and to update all their latest communication and personal information.

Customers with enquiries or feedback regarding postboxes are welcome to contact the call centre at 0860 086 860.
