Mr Tsietsi Zwane (30) alleges that he was assaulted by his manager and police officers.

According to Mr Zwane it all started when he was told by his site manager that he needed to report at the company premises in Tasbet Park. While working at the site he was called to come into the office and after that he was told to go to the storeroom. At the storeroom the company manager started accusing him of stealing from the company and allegedly started assaulting him.

“The company manager accused me of stealing pipe worth about R30 000 for the past six months and said he had all the information about the theft and where I have sold the materials. I asked him since he had all the information why was he not opening a case against me. He continued assaulting me and after that he went out of the storeroom leaving me locked in. After a few minutes, three police officers came to the storeroom and started questioning me. The police officers also started assaulting me and said I must speak the truth. They placed me on the ground and assaulted me after they had handcuffed me. That was done several times and they said I must speak the truth, I told them that I knew nothing about the theft. They later released me and left the premises,” Zwane said.
