Accident claims another life

The Old Middelburg Road (R555) is one of the most used roads going through eMalahleni and claimed yet another life.
On Sunday evening October 1 a horrible accident occurred, which involved four vehicles.

The sight of another accident on the Old Middelburg Road (R555). The accident occurred on Sunday October 1 where one life was claimed.

Police statements taken on scene indicated that a Silver Toyota Corolla, Blue Toyota bakkie and a Black Golf were travelling towards eMalahleni when a Red Volkswagen Polo came from the opposite direction, into their lane.

The driver of the Toyota bakkie alleged that he saw the red vehicle coming towards them and did not get time to stop. He then managed to drive through the space between the black Golf and Red Polo that collided head on and luckily sustained no injuries.

Four vehicles were involved in a serious accident on the Old Middelburg Road (R555). The accident occurred on Sunday October 1.

Unfortunately for the driver in the Black Golf it was fatal and he was declared dead on scene.
