The account crisis has the community at their wits end, but the municipality says that the problem will be resolved shortly.

This is after the municipality changed to a new billing system and numerous problems surfaced.

In a statement, Mr Kingdom Mabuza, municipal spokesperson said that the EasyPay payments are being uploaded manually and the process is already underway.

This following the problem that surfaced on last months accounts, where accounts paid via this method, did not reflect on the side of the municipality or on the latest accounts.

Mabuza also said that the billing process is ongoing and they are certain that the process will be done by Thursday. The municipality is also hopeful that residents will then receive accurate accounts.

This follows after no municipal accounts were received for July, after the change of billing systems. Residents are now still waiting for August accounts.

Residents are urged to still make payments, with or without an account received. In a previous article, the municipality stated that after they switched to the new system, unforeseen ‘hiccups’ made their appearance, like numerous amounts for water and electricity consumption, but the problems are receiving their attention.

Mabuza explained that this is due to their switch but that they are working to resolve all issues.
