Many residents in eMalahleni are under the impression that there are still water restrictions.
As spring is here, many people want to get their gardens looking beautiful for the summer but are not sure if they can use a hose pipe to water their gardens instead of a bucket.
A lot of elderly people are still carrying bucket load after bucket load of water to irrigate their gardens. This is however placing a lot of strain on their backs and by the third bucket they are exhausted.
No more water restrictions in eMalahleni, but don’t waste water.
On Monday, August 28 Witbank Dam level was 100.1 percent full.
“Water restrictions have been lifted; I think we did not communicate far and wide enough when it was decided to lift the restriction. Our water capacity has improved tremendously but we still request residents not to waste water,” said Mr Kingdom Mabuza, spokesperson from Emalahleni City Council.
