CBD – The gateway to drugs

Over the past week, drug dealers got swept away like the August winds by police.

The never ending story of drugs in eMalahleni got a whole new chapter on August 22 as five arrests were made for the possession and dealing in drugs, in the CBD (Central Business District).

The drugs that were confiscated by police were a variety from dagga to the hardcore drug known as rocks.

As law enforcement took on the streets it did not take them long to see suspicious activity as the first and second arrests were made in known drug lane, Diedericks Street.

On the two suspects arrested, dagga was found, all five packets neatly wrapped. On their way to put the first two suspects behind bars they took a detour through the dirty streets of the CBD and with no surprise caught another three suspicious men walking the streets.

On the one suspect the police got two plastic bags containing drugs where the other two suspects got arrested for a heap of dagga, hidden away in a vehicle.

All above suspects will be appearing in court on charges of possession and dealing in drugs.

The police urge the public to report any drug abuse or dealing to the local Witbank Police Station.
