Armed robbers wanting more goods target commune

“We stay in a commune, I took them to my room, on the way they gathered the people in the house and forced us all to my room,” said Shabalala.

“Me and my friend were chilling outside my place when five guys showed up and robbed us,” said Mr Alex Shabalala.

The armed robbery took place in the early evening of August 15 in Extension 10.

As Shabalala’s friend was about to leave they were held at gunpoint. The robbers took their possessions including their phones, and wallets.

“They told us to go inside, they said they wanted more things,” said Shabalala.

Shabalala, held at gunpoint, proceeded to lead them into the house.

“We stay in a commune, I took them to my room, on the way they gathered the people in the house and forced us all to my room,” said Shabalala.

The robbers proceeded to loot Shabalala’s room of valuables, in the process they vandalised what they couldn’t take.

“The rooms they were able to get into they looted, when they were done they moved on to the house next door and that’s the last we saw of them,” he said.

He added that they tried tracking his friend’s phone using ‘find your iPhone’ but didn’t have data so couldn’t track where the phone had been taken to.
