Rage is flaring over the city when the municipal accounts were received on Thursday, August 24.

This is after no accounts were received from the municipality, at the end of July. A new system was allegedly the cause for the delay, but what are the amounts on the new accounts?

On most accounts, no ‘estimated payments’ that were made last month, reflect on this month’s account.


An example of the new ‘billing system’ which residents were charged on, in the new accounts received on August 24.

More complaints about incorrect accounts can be emailed to melissa@witbanknews.co.za and it will be followed up with the municipality.
