For the unfortunate armed robbers that were caught after robbing a G4S van at a garage in Mandela Drive, luck is running low.

On July 21 the WITBANK NEWS published an article about four suspects that were hunted down by both G4S security guards and the SAPS.

The article stated:

“The driver of the truck alleged he was on duty and stopped at Total garage in Mandela Drive and when his colleague came back with the cash he spotted an unknown man with a firearm in his hands grabbing his colleague and demanding the cash. He tried to fight back but the suspect threw him on the ground, it was then when the driver of the G4S van started to reverse in the hope that he could bump the armed robber and save his colleague. The suspect fired a gunshot into the air and took the canister of cash from the guard lying on the floor. Like always these guards first observe before they get trigger happy and suddenly saw the suspect with the canister rushing off in a Silver Polo Vivo. At the circle by the garage the G4S driver managed to drive into the ‘get away’ vehicle and forced the Polo with four suspects inside to drive into a barrier wall.”

Luckily no G4S security guards got injured and the cash were recovered.

On of the four suspects getting escorted into the police van after being hunted down after a cash-in-transit heist. On July 21 four suspects were caught while fleeing the scene at a garage in Mandela Drive after robbing a G4S van.

On August 10 these four men appeared before the Witbank Magistrate Court. The hearing started out with a long list of each suspects convictions.

The four suspects, namely Ndumiso Sibanyoni (24), Reginald Phakula (24), Mthokozisi Khosa (24) and Evans Sibanyoni (35) stood anxiously while the prosecutor read out their wrong doings. The charges were from robbery with aggravated circumstances to hijacking.

After a long wait to hear the outcome of this case the prosecutor asked to deny all four suspects bail as the case was postponed.

“The four suspects will remain in custody until September 8,” the prosecutor concluded.
