An accused murderer has been denied bail at the Kriel Magistrate Court.
Kriel police arrested a 26-year- old man for a murder that happened in the early morning of Sunday, August 6, at Thubelihle.
It is alleged that the deceased 34-year-old man was trying to intervene in a quarrel between the suspect and the deceased’s younger brother.
The suspect took out a knife and stabbed the man several times in the upper body.
The man was certified dead on the scene by local paramedics and taken to Bethal government mortuary.
The suspect appeared in court on Monday, August 7 and was denied bail. The suspect remains in custody until his next court appearance on Monday, August 14.
