They then moved into the strong room and used a grinder to open it and stole seven computers worth R7 000 and other items which were stored there. They also took money, R6 000 cash from the tuck shop. There was also R2 300 petty cash taken and seven laptops estimated at R42 000, an overhead projector worth about R5 000, electricity extension cord worth R5 00 and other items.

The principal also claimed that the security company has told them that they need to pay for the security system to be installed again and they feel that it is very unfair on the part of the security company.

The thieves used the same modus operandi to break-in at Bonginsimbi Secondary School. It was a second break-in at the school in two months. The first was on May 9, where the thieves took away tools worth R51 00.

Other stolen items were stored in this room at Khayalethu Primary School after thieves’ break-in.
