A dispute about employment at a local power station broke out at a company, causing eight people to land in hospital.

On Friday, July 14 a group of about 20 people seeking employment arrived at Vitrovian House in Geringer Street.

It’s alleged that the group went inside the building, questioning the people about the employment that they were promised.

According to the group things got heated inside the building when shots were fired.

A group member was shot inside the building, as the blood trace can be seen down the stairs as they all ran out.
The group then continued to run away down the street while the people armed with firearms continued shooting.

Empty bullet casings were picked up off the tarmac and on the pavement and the grass.

Emergency services responded to the call and four people were taken to hospital.
Another four people were treated on scene for light injuries sustained.

The group of 20 then became more violent and more people started to join as they then formed a protest.
