The community of Phola gathered together to discuss ongoing issues.

The meeting was held on Tuesday June 27 at the Masakhane Sports Ground in Phola.

The meeting arranged by Pastor Chippa Mtsweni of Waya Waya Movement touched on matters such as the concern regarding hijackings and other related crimes.

The community invited Police to respond to their queries and concerns.


A Phola community meeting was held at the Masakhane Sports Ground.

The Station Commander of Phola SAPS Lt Coll Nape Matlala, Acting Vispol Commander W/O Nathan Maleka, Acting Detectives Branch Commander W/O Simon Matshika, Phola/Ogies Corporate Communication Officer Const Thabang Mabena, Phola CIO Const Nonhlanhla Monama and Phola CPF Members attended the meeting.

The community members were very pleased to see the presence of the police at their meeting, they asked questions to the police concerning the hijackings and other crimes and all their questions were answered.

“The SAPS in Phola and Ogies came up with good working strategies on how to defeat these crimes, the marked SAPS patrolling vehicles were posted in all the hotspots, the detectives were also tasked to make their investigations concerning all this crime and also engage their informers so that these criminals will face justice,” said Lt Col Matlala.

The meeting went very well and the community promised to work with the Police in fighting crime every day
