Brand new car for blue light hijackers

The blue light hijacking squad reappeared in eMalahleni’s streets this past weekend.

The blue light hijacking squad made their appearance in eMalahleni’s streets this past weekend.

On April 26 Mr. Ugur Gunn was travelling on Mandela Drive when a white vehicle with a blue light allegedly indicated him to pull over.

When approached, Gunn alleged that the suspect was in police uniform with a rank of constable. The suspect told him to get into the back seat of his vehicle as he asserted that Gunn was driving under the influence. It was further alleged that two unknown suspects came running from a Toyota Corolla parked behind him, both armed.

The three suspects fled the scene along with Gunn in his own vehicle. While driving around for about an hour one of the suspects asked Gunn if his vehicle had any tracker devices installed but he made them believe that there was no such device installed. The hijackers allegedly stopped along the road and ditched Gunn in the bushes. He came across a farm house nearby where he was assisted to get into contact with his family.

His parents went and fetched him in Enkangala.
Tracker tracked his brand new White Golf 7 in Pretoria a few hours later.

“Everything in the car was stripped from the inside out,” Gunn said.

No arrests were made but the SAPS are investigating this matter.
