Pedestrian killed on N4

Paramedics arrived at the accident scene and declared Mbokazi dead.

The Mdakisa family have many unanswered questions about the sudden death of their brother, Mr Zakhele Mbokazi (29).

On Saturday, April 22 at approximately 17:50 the traffic on the N4 highway opposite Highveld Steel came to a sudden stop as a pedestrian had been hit.

Mbokazi, who lives in Phola, came to eMalahleni for the evening to visit his friend in Vosman.
As Mbokazi had Vosman in sight he started crossing the road when a vehicle travelling towards eMalahleni hit him.
Paramedics arrived at the accident scene and declared Mbokazi dead.

Mbokazi would have celebrated his 30th birthday on Sunday, April 23.

“He was a very good guy and well respected. We will miss him so much,” said Zakhele’s sister, Ms Gabisile Mdakisa.


Forensic Pathology Services from eMalahleni on the scene where Mr Zakhele Mbokazi was hit by a car on Saturday, April 22.

Mdakisa continued;

“he was the only brother left in the family and now our father will live alone.”

Mbokazi’s funeras was held on Saturday, April 29 in Phola.
He leaves behind family and friends.
