Pollen ‘Trompies’ Ndlanya scored a spectacular goal in retirement

There are plans to introduce mayoral games which will cater for different sporting codes

Former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs prolific striker Pollen ‘Trompies’ Ndlanya scored yet another spectacular goal, years after his retirement, when he donated soccer kits to ambitious youngsters at Duvha Primary School.

Ndlanya who hosts an annual soccer tournament promised the youngsters that he will make further soccer and netball donations at a later stage.

He further committed to visit other schools in eMalahleni to donate sport equipment to motivate youngsters to participate in sport.

“It is always pleasing to see youngsters happy when I donate sport equipment. As soccer legends I feel we should give back to our communities and get involve in sport particularly at school level,” said Ndlanya.

Emalahleni Local Municipality Executive Mayor Cllr Lindiwe Ntshalintshali, who graced the occasion emphasized the importance of sport to keep youngsters away from engaging in anti social behavior.

There are plans to introduce mayoral games which will cater for different sporting codes.

An exhilarated Principal of Duvha Primary School, Mr Pikkie Hermann told the learners to appreciate the privilege of having the executive mayor and Ndlanya as guests.

“It is very important to develop the learners both mentally and physically, and the donation will motivate our learners to aspire to reach a level of playing for Bafana Bafana in future,” said Mr Hermann.

The school hosts an annual soccer and netball tournament.
