Poaching case will go on trial

He is facing two charges, one for illegal hunting and the second charge is for hunting game at night

A man accused of illegal hunting will know his fate later this year when the case goes on trial.

On Monday, March 27 Mr Francois van der Walt appeared in front of Magistrate Merlene Greyvenstein where his case would be heard.

He is facing two charges, one for illegal hunting and the second charge is for hunting game at night.

Van der Walt was released on R5 000 bail after he was arrested on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 by Vosman Police for allegedly having Blesbok carcasses in his possession, along with night sight equipment, silencers on the firearms and he had no hunting permits.

The case has been postponed until November 20 when it will go on trial.
