Grass should be cut soon

The municipality’s parks department will cut grass.

If all goes well Blanchville will receive a little attention by next week.

The municipality’s parks department will cut grass alongside Libertas -, Beit -, Second -, Plantation -, Blanch -, Albert -, Avril Streets, and Gordon Road between April 14 and April 21.

This is good news for residents who feel that Blanchville is the municipality’s orphan child.

Mr Deon Botha from Schonland Colliery who has a guesthouse in Gordon Road took it upon himself to clean the intersection on the corner of Gordon Road and Second Street.

On Wednesday, March 29 and Thursday, March 30 he took a volunteer group from Vosman and they spent two days cleaning up the sidewalks, the islands and the post office in Gordon Road.

Street lights that are not working, potholes, the main sewerage line running to Riverview Sewerage plant that is not a registered servitude and the bridge in Second Street that washed away in
March last year are still topics that the municipality must address soon.

“I do report this on a weekly basis and will follow-up,” said Cllr Roy Cronje ward councillor

Residents are cautioned to drive carefully as the teams patching potholes are still busy with all major roads, before they will turn their attention to residential streets.
