An incident that occurred on March 10 left a couple fearing for their lives when they were attacked and robbed in front of the SASSA offices.

“When we were finished we walked to our vehicle that was parked in front of the Woman’s Clinic. We were already in the vehicle when two suspects surrounded us. They forced the door open on my husband’s side and causally pulled knives and started swinging it at him. I was already in the car but tried to help him. Meanwhile, my husband hit the one that wore a blue overall on the nose with his fist. He came back when I yelled at the security. But he just stood there not to help us but he was just looking. My husband then started screaming to get in the car and that is when the one with the blue overall started banging on my door but luckily it was locked. My husband kicked the second suspect, where he stabbed him with the knife in the leg,” Ms Petro Nagel said.

The thought that the suspects would be long gone keep a low profile after the incident, were in anyone’s thoughts as the next incident occurred just moments after.

When they stopped and saw that the delivery man was being robbed and forced with a knife.

The police did not even think twice and started chasing after the two suspects for about four blocks.
