The police are still busy investigating a tragic murder that happened in Springvalley with the killing of a family breadwinner and a father of an eight month old girl.

Mr Thulani Sanele Mkhabela (24) was killed on Thursday, March 2 at approximately 02:00.
Mkhabela used to live in eMalahleni with Mr Dylan Lang. According to Lang he is not sure how his friend was killed.

“I received a called from the forensic department saying that Thulani had been stabbed, that’s all I know,” said Lang

Mr Nkosinathi Dladla, Mkhabela’s eldest brother did confirm that his brother was at a tavern that evening in Springvalley.

How the stabbing happened is still unclear to everyone.
Police officers from Witbank Police Station responded to murder call that had just happened.
When the police arrived on the scene they found three men Sfiso Maluleke, Daniel Ngobeni and Nkosi Smanga standing around the person that was killed.


Thulani Sanele Mkhabela (24) was killed in Springvalley.

On the ground laid Mkhabela and he had an open stab wound to his chest, a knife was lying on the ground next to the deceased.
Police started questioning that’s when, it was said that the person who allegedly stabbed Mkhabela wanted to stab Smanga instead.

“My brother was stabbed my mistake,” said Dladla.

One suspect was arrested for the murder of Mkhabela and he was taken to Witbank Police Station.

“My brother was the main breadwinner. He was quiet and was not violent at all,” said Dladla.

Dladla continued

“We were eight siblings in the family now are we only six.”

At this stage there are no funeral arrangements as Dladla can’t take his body home past Tonga as they are struggling with transport.

“He was always a happy person. He wanted to make everyone else happy, as long as the people around him were happy then he was happy,” said Lang.

Mkhabela leaves behind his siblings and his eight month old daughter.
