Four paramedics, fire fighters, tow truck drivers and the police getting wet in the rain was water off a ducks back as they all worked together to free a woman from her vehicle where she was trapped in.
Paramedics from ER24 and the fire fighters working together to get the trapped driver out of the white Volkswagen Vivo on Monday, February 20.
The blue Chevrolet bakkie was also involved in the accident.
The accident happened on the N12 highway just outside Ogies on Monday, February 20 at approximately 10:00.
Three vehicles were involved in the collision a white Volkswagen Vivo, a silver Daihatsu Terios and a blue Chevrolet bakkie.
According to the driver of the blue Chevrolet bakkie he was travelling to Johannesburg along with his girlfriend.
“We were travelling along the highway and the silver Daihatsu was also travelling in the same direction. I overtook him and within minutes he must have lost control of the vehicle as he hit the back of my vehicle. I then spun across the island and into on coming traffic on the other side of the highway and then the vehicle came to a stop on a patch of grass facing on coming traffic,” said Mr Mitch Wentzel.

It’s still unclear how the Daihatsu also landed up on the other side of the highway in on coming traffic.
The woman travelling in the Vivo then collided into the back of the Daihatsu that came to a standstill on the highway.
Traffic travelling to eMalahleni came to a standstill as the fast lane was occupied with emergency services.
Emergency services worked together for over an hour to free the trapped woman from the vehicle, as other paramedics stabilized the driver of the Daihatsu his passenger was declared dead on scene.
Estie Biela from ER24 sat with the trapped driver of the Volkswagen Vivo all the time, watching her vital signs all the time.
Paramedics from ER24 and the Provincial Ambulance Service work together as they get the driver out of her vehicle.
Once the woman was freed from the vehicle she was stabilised on scene and then transported to Life Cosmos Hospital where she received further treatment.
Mr Norman Moraba (39) was declared dead on scene, he has been identified but the family could not be reached for comment in time for print.
