The cars were held on the highway as drivers tried to find their way to KwaGuqa Extension. In some parts of the area electricity cables were exposed posing a danger to especially young ones crossing the roads. Some of the eroded parts of the road were left as dongas and posing a danger to even adults in the area.

“The heavy pour caused a lot of problems for us as our roads are already damaged roads before the heavy rain. Some of us could not enter our yards because of the dongas on the road. Cables are now exposed which will result in people being electrocuted, we hope something will be done to prevent that. We staying in the low laying areas will have to carry soil that is packed in our yards and we have to hire people to remove it, our safety will be comprised because of the rain,” said one of the residents.
