People fell victims of robbery during the festive season

Mr Augustine Jan Bhimbi (48) reported that he was on his way to the shop when he came across five unknown suspects and one of them had a firearm. The suspects demanded cash and started searching his pockets.

They robbed him of R100 in cash and ran to their vehicle a blue Nissan 1400 bakkie with unknown registration. The complainant ran to his neighbours to seek help and they gave the suspect’s a chase and only one of the suspects was caught and assaulted. The 21-year-old suspect was taken to the hospital for medical care while under police guard.
The incident happened on Saturday, December 17, at about 05:45 at Extension 10 in KwaGuqa in a public road.
Another victim was Shadrack Doctor Sethatho (29) who reported a case of robbery to the police.

Sethatho told the police that on Saturday, December 17 at about 1:30 he was at a tavern in Extension 10 with a friend. While sitting at the parking area a certain unknown lady known by the friend approached them and asked them to accompany her to the toilet.

The friend refused to accompany her and Sethatho decided to accompany her instead. Along the way the Sethatho realised that the lady was taking him to a dark passage. Suddenly two unknown suspects emerged and one of them produced a firearm.

They demanded cash and started searching him. They took his wallet containing R200 in cash, his carvellas shoes, car keys and bank cards and after that they fled the scene. The value of all the things taken is estimated to be R11 300.

No one has been arrested and police are looking for the female friend.
