A house robbery took place when a suspect forced his way through the front door with a gun in hand.

On November 30 a man was apparently walking his girlfriend home that lives in Plumer Street near the Central Business District (CBD).

As soon as the door opened a suspect appeared behind them with a firearm in hand, forcing the two victims into the house at gunpoint. The third victim was already inside the house.

All three were threatened by the unknown suspect as he fired a shot into the floor to prove he was serious. They reluctantly handed over their cell phones as well as the cash they had on hand. Before the suspect fled he demanded that they find the bullet casing of the shot he fired. He took it with him when he ran away.

None of the victims were injured in the incident and the Witbank SAPS attended the crime scene to investigate the matter.
