eMalahleni is known for its accidents, this weekend two accidents occurred where one accident had two people taken to hospital and in a separate accident a person was arrested.

The accident that happened on the N4 highway on Saturday evening, November 19 where a car hit the wall.

The first accident occurred on Saturday, November 19 on the N4 highway at approximately 18:15.
A red Mazda collided into the wall that separates the highway. The driver and passenger sustained severe injuries and were taken to various hospitals for further treatment.

On Sunday morning, November 20 at 01:45 police were patrolling Mandela Road in convoy towards the Central Business District while approaching the Mandela and Jellicoe robot they noticed a white bakkie along Jellicoe turning left into Mandela. He missed the turn and instead drove into the robot where the police were stopped.

Another accident occurred on Sunday morning, November 20 where the robot was hit.

The police then thought that he would stop, instead he reversed and tried to flee. He then reversed his vehicle and drove up Mandela Road.

Police then gave chase and he pulled into Allenby Street and was cut off by Afriforum and police who diverted to cut him off from the other end of the street.

An arrest was conducted by the police with the assistance of Afrifourm.

In another incident police and the CPF arrested a man for drunk driving and failure to stop at a traffic light. Their chase went from Klipfontein to Duvha Ext 9 where they cut him off and arrested him on Sunday November 20.
