Taking a closer look at the field one could see how trees had been woven together to obscure vision from outside of the field, there were also a number of ‘camps’ hidden within the area surrounded by brush and kept out of plain sight.

During the operation stop and searches were carried out on members of the public passing through the area. As police approached one of the camps one of the people within the camp was seen scurrying about picking up items he then made a run for it, two men remained behind in the camp and were searched, they were found not to be in possession of any illegal or illicit goods.

The operation did not result in any arrests however it did assert a police and community policing presence in the area and a better awareness of the area that was created.
