Potholes are wide open

Motorists that use OR Tambo Street on a daily basis whether commuting to work or school must drive with care

Motorists that use OR Tambo Street on a daily basis whether commuting to work or school must drive with care, this follows after potholes are wide open in certain parts of the road.

The rain this past weekend might have been the cause for some of the potholes to be open. OR Tambo Street is not the only street that is affected; various other streets around the city have been involved in this dire tragedy.

Major potholes on the busiest street of town OR Tambo Street are located at the robots of Steenkamp and Stevenson Street.

A pothole has been opened at OR Tambo Street following the heavy rain this past weekend.

As a result drivers have to duck and swerve their steering wheel with the attempt of not driving into potholes which could lead to severe damage of a motor vehicle.

Your car can have a slow puncture, flat tyres, wheel alignment problems or even worse an accident.
Spokesperson of the municipality, Mr Lebohang Mofokeng indicated that a lot of streets have been opened up due to heavy rainfalls.

“An assessment was done and our programme will be changed to accommodate all the critical streets. We are busy with the appointment of further five contractors who will with two municipal teams be repairing potholes over the next two months.”

In total more than R10 million will be spent in the process in which the municipality trusts that some of the most critical problem areas will be dealt with.
