Woman arrested after being found with dagga

“With these operations we want to make sure people abide by the law. We are going to remove these substances off the streets,”

Operation Thunderstorm’ saw police patrol the city were drug arrests were made in various places.

These arrests were made on the evening of Thursday, October 14. Police officials alternated with some working at night and some working day shift to sweep crime off the street.

Station Commander Brig Delisiwe Motha was also present. As police were patrolling at Extension 29 in the evening around 21:30 they arrested a woman who was found in possession of eight small plastics of dagga, with a street value of R120.

Another arrest was made at Extension 8 where they raided the Why Not tavern and nightclub. One of the men that has been searched was found with box matches full of dagga. As the policeman continued searching him, he was found with a box of cigarettes which had dagga wrapped in plastic.

“With these operations we want to make sure people abide by the law. We are going to remove these substances off the streets,” emphasised Sgt David Ratau, the assistant spokesperson of Witbank Police Station.
