25 People injured in accident on Sunday

Emergency services arrived on the scene and found the vehicle far off the road lying on its side.

A large transport vehicle rolled on the Verena Road on the outskirts of eMalahleni, injuring at least 25 people.
The accident occurred on the morning of Sunday, October 2.

Emergency services arrived on the scene and found the vehicle far off the road lying on its side. Numerous occupants’ from the transporter were found walking around on the scene.

“Paramedics assessed the scene and found that approximately 25 people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported on the scene,” said Russel Meiring, communications officer, ER24.

The patients were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to Witbank Hospital for further treatment.

It is alleged that the driver of the vehicle lost control of the vehicle as it drove around a bend, causing the vehicle to roll a number of times before coming to a stop.
