On September 14 Const Bongane Mbuli and Const Joseph Msiza were out on patrol when they stopped and searched a vehicle with two occupants.

On further investigation the police found the two men, aged 35 and 36 in possession of a bag, in that bag were parcels of dagga weighing at 1.207kg with a street value of about R6 000. The two men were arrested, and appeared before the Kriel Magistrate Court on September 22 facing the charge of dealing in drugs, their case was postponed for further investigation.

On September 19 at about 06:50 a complainant of burglary was received in which a number of items were stolen including a generator, micro oven and sound system.

The team of Sgt Bafana Zulu (Sector Manager), Sgt Sipho Maswikaneng and Const Peter Maseko went out and investigated the crime reported. During their investigations they arrested the alleged man responsible, with the suspected stolen property in his possession. The 30 year old man was trying to sell the items at a home in Ga-Nala. He was taken into custody and later appeared in court on charges of house break-in and theft.

The Kriel Police urge residents not to buy suspected stolen property and should report any such items to the local authorities.

Three women were arrested at a clothing wholesaler in Ga-Nala on September 14.

Const Themba Masombuka and Const Marcus Sindane conducted the arrest of the three women, aged 20, 20 and 24. The three women appeared before the Kriel Magistrates Court on charges of shoplifting and were denied bail as they had a number of similar charges pending against them in the towns of Embalenhle, Leslie, Evander, Secunda and Bethal.

Other successes in Ga-Nala include arrests for another three shoplifting cases, two driving under influence, two cases of contravention of the liquor act, and the contravention of the traffic act.
These successes took place over the period of September 12 to 18.
