Four year old hit by car in Watermeyer

Allegedly the four year old boy ran across the road to go to his parents who were waiting for him on the other side of the road.

Afternoon traffic in Watermeyer Street came to a screeching halt as a vehicle stopped in the left hand lane after a four year old was hit by the car.

Just after the schools came out on Friday afternoon, September 2 at 13:40 emergency services were called for assistance in Watermeyer Street.


Paramedics from Langamed Emergency Management stabilising the injured four year old boy who was knocked down by a car on Friday, September 2. The paramedics are Lucas Ntsimane and Joseph Monyela.

It’s alleged that the driver of the blue Toyota Etios was travelling from Tasbet Park towards Klipfontein when the accident happened.

Allegedly the four year old boy ran across the road to go to his parents who were waiting for him on the other side of the road.

According to eyewitnesses the four year old boy was travelling in another vehicle when the vehicle allegedly stopped in the road and the boy ran across the road to his parents.
Emergency services arrived on scene and the four year old was stabilised.

“He sustained facial injuries and lacerations to his head,” said Mr Dino Padayachee Chief Executive Officer of Langamed.

Once he was stabilised he was transported to Life Cosmos Hospital for further medical treatment.

“I can unfortunately not comment about the patient,” said Ms Christelle Matthee, Marketing and Communications Coordinator from Life Cosmos Hospital.
