Diesel thieves leave without a trace

They went back to the yard; they later discovered that over 28000 litres of diesel was stolen.

In two separate incidents at businesses in eMalahleni diesel was stolen from the tanks.
On Tuesday, September 6 at 23:40 Mr Joseph Sebozi alleged that he was on duty and was sitting in a truck at a construction site near Pine Ridge.

While sitting in the truck getting comfortable for the evening, he was robbed by 11 unknown men.
They tied Sebozi up with his shoe laces, and then they took 3000 litres of diesel from the truck.
According to Sebozi they left the scene in a blue Ford Ranger bakkie and a Hyundai both vehicles never had registration number plates on.

Two days prior on September 4 at 23:30 on the Old Ogies Road by a depot Mr Juvenio Fernando alleged that he was on duty as a security guard along with three other men who were security guards as well.

It’s alleged that the four security guards were approached by five unknown men, one was armed with a firearm.
The suspect that was armed started waving the firearm around and demanded that the four guards hand over their hand radios, panic buttons and cell phones otherwise he would shoot them.

Once everything was handed over, the suspects tied up the guard’s hands with their shoe laces and they were taken into the bushes where they were ordered to lie down and then the suspects tied their feet up.

The suspect armed with the firearm asked Fernando what time his supervisor will be there to check up on them.
So Fernando told the suspect, that’s when things started to hurry up or so it seemed to the guards who where lying in the bushes face down.

While lying down the guards then heard a truck start up and the sound of the truck faded into the distance.
A couple of minutes went by and one of the security guards managed to untie himself then untied the rest.
They went back to the yard; they later discovered that over 28000 litres of diesel was stolen.
