The rumours that Cllr Lindiwe Ntshalintshali’s quest for a new car has been declined, could not be confirmed yet.
“The DA in Mpumalanga welcomes the decision by Emahleni Municipality to reverse the purchase of a R1.5 million luxury vehicle for Cllr Ntshalintshali,” said Cllr Naritha Naidu DA Caucus Leader in the municipality.
Following the uproar about the mayor’s shopping spree for a new vehicle WITBANK NEWS called in the help of an expert to guide the mayor in ‘shopping’ for a new car.

“After I heard that the town council had managed to save around R1.5 million from the service delivery budget – a budget that demands every last cent to be honest- so that they could buy the new mayor a new car I started scratching my head” Justin said.

The mayor, being a servant of the people needs to have a vehicle that will be able to reach every area, even those that are not so easily accessible. She would need an SUV as it has the ground clearance that is needed to deal with our uneven roads and big tyres to deal with the increasing number of potholes.
R1.5 million will easily get her into an SUV however it will be the wrong SUV.
“For that amount of money the council will be looking at a fancy German SUV. Sure they are flashy but they are expensive to maintain, the tyres cost a fortune and let’s be honest, they are not really cut out for rough terrain. These cars also tend to lose their value pretty quickly so when it’s time to sell it the council will be losing more of our money,” Justin laid the cards on the table.
“No, what the mayor needs is a vehicle with a proven track record, something that will help her get the job done. After all, she is the mayor of eMalahleni and not a Kardashian.”
“So there you have it, these are my top three SUV’s that are known to be reliable, safe, tough and are also light on the budget meaning that the council can reinvest almost R1 million back into the service delivery budget.
