The Executive Mayor of Emalahleni, Cllr Lindiwe Ntshalintshali is already in the hot seat.
In the first council meeting after the elections in August, her new car was first on the agenda.
The decision to get the mayor a new set of wheels was taken on Thursday, September 1.
“The issue of a replacement of the official municipal vehicle to be used for official travelling by the mayor was added to the agenda as the document was ready and the municipality wanted to allow sufficient time before the vehicle must be replaced, to follow open and transparent processes,” said the Municipal Manager, Mr Theo van Vuuren.
Cllr Naritha Naidu, Democratic Alliance Caucus Leader in the Emalahleni Local Council said Van Vuuren is once again demonstrating how out of touch the ANC is with reality on the ground, placing politicians ahead of the needs of the people.
