A 38-year-old man has multiple stitches after getting into a fight and being stabbed by five men he knows.
The incident happened on Tuesday, August 2 at Pine Ridge.
He was waiting for his brother to come pick him up and take him home after a long day at work, five men in a car stopped next to him. He stated that he knows the men as they allegedly owe his brother a huge sum of money. When asked when they will be able to pay back the money they allegedly hit him with the car and he fell down.
After that the suspects got out of their vehicle and started to beat him.
“They were holding knives, they used it to stab me,” said the victim.
He was stabbed in different areas of his body including three wounds on his chest, two on his arm and other multiple wounds on the rest of his body.
“If it was not for the security guard that called for help, I do not know what could have happened to me,” said the man.
He was transported to Witbank Hospital where he was stitched.
“I was trying to be the middle man for my brother’s affairs and that did not turn out good. I am currently concentrating on being healed first as I currently cannot do much around the house. I will sort out other issues later. The guard really saved my life, I could have been dead,” concluded the victim.
An Assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm case was opened at Witbank Police Station.
