Stolen car recovered in Spring Valley

“While I was standing there, they told me not to scream,”

Last weekend a resident from eMalahleni was held up while he was opening his gate to drive into his garden to park his vehicle.

The incident occurred on Saturday, July 16 at 21:30 in Tasbet Park in Lemonwood Street when Mr Handry Mbatha returned home.

He alleged that he stopped at his home, with his vehicle still idling in front of his gate as he climbed out of his vehicle to open the gate; he noticed a car passing his house with speed.

Suddenly out of nowhere Mbatha noticed three unknown men standing by his side, armed with firearms.

“While I was standing there, they told me not to scream,” he continued.

Mbatha handed over the car keys to the suspect; they then ordered him into the house and drove his blue Toyota Corolla into the garage.

The suspects started loading various household items into the Toyota that was parked in the garage while Mbatha was held up.

Items that were loaded into the vehicle were a LG Television, Samsung and Nokia cell phones, HP Laptop, LG amplifier and DVD player.

Once all the items were loaded into the vehicle, the three suspects jumped into the Toyota and drove off.
A shocked Mbatha opened a case of house robbery and car theft, the vehicle was later recovered in Spring Valley.

“I am glad the vehicle has been recovered,” he concluded.
