House burgled, children left unharmed

“I was at work and the children were at the house when four men gained access."

Two houses were burgled during the last week, where one fortunate family can tell the tale of their children left unharmed and their belongings left untouched.

On Friday, July 8 a house in Tasbet Park was burgled when the resident heard a knock on the door. She lives with her two children, and one went to open the door, as she thought it was the father of her kids. To her surprise she saw an unknown man enter the house, who knew her by name.

The complainant stated that the man tied their hands and left the children in their rooms, while she was told to go into her room. She also told the police that the robbers demanded cash. Money, a Samsung Galaxy tab 3 and an S2 Cell phone was stolen.

Two computers were also taken and the complainant stated that a call was made by one of the suspects as soon as they have finished taking the belongings.

On Wednesday, July 6 another house was burgled, the children were fortunately left unharmed.

“I was at work and the children were at the house when four men gained access. They told the children to go to their bedrooms and my bedroom door was locked, so the burglars could not gain access. This is our second burglary, the previous time we were not so lucky as they practically cleaned the house. It also happened around this time last year. Nothing was stolen this time,” said the home owner who preferred to stay anonymous.

She also added that she does not recall the exact time of the burglary, but her sister sent her a message at approximately 10:30, informing her of what happened.

“We are thankful that nothing happened to the children. We can also just say thank you that nothing got stolen,” she concluded.
